Congrats to our Bears Football team for earning share of 3A South region!




HEAD COACH                                 

Evric Gray was named Head Coach of the Summit Academy boys basketball team in the summer of 2012.
Gray made an immediate impact in the school program leading the Bears to a Region Championship in 2013 the first year that Summit Academy was a member of the UHSAA. Coach Gray has led the Bears to 3 State Basketball appearances in 4 years and recently winning the 2016 2A State Championship and adding another Region Championship. 
Coach Gray runs a successful AAU program the Salt Lake Rebels where he has developed many players that have gone on to receive full-ride scholarships at all levels. 
Previously Coach Evric Gray had coaching stops at Murray High School and Judge Memorial Catholic High School.
 A native of Los Angeles, CA, Gray attended UNLV where he studied Criminal Justice. He played under late Coach Jery Tarkanian from 1990-1993, after going un-drafted Gray played for the New Jersey Nets and 7 years professionally overseas. Evric has two daughters Alexa a BYU graduate and Volleyball All-American who is currently playing professionally and Jordan also a BYU graduate and Rugby All-American who is currently on the U.S Rugby team. 
Coach Hector Marquez enters his 5th year at Summit Academy High School and his 12th overall.
During his career, Marquez has helped develop several top players in Utah and California helping place several players from D-III to D-I across the country. In his eleven years as a coach he has been part of seven region/league championships.
Coach Marquez graduated from Gabrielino High School in California were he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He receive his B.A in English Education at Utah Valley University were he also played lacrosse. Coach Marquez will also receive his M.A in School Counseling this May. He is married to Kelli Marquez and together they have a two year old named Olivia and are expecting a baby in April.
